Arsenal outcast Lucas Torreira loses tooth in Fiorentina match but plays 90 minutes and scores in back-to-back games for the first time in his career to dent Inter Milan’s Serie A title hopes

Arsenal’s outcast midfielder Lucas Torreira lost a tooth whilst scoring in back-to-back games for the first time in his career, denting Inter Milan’s title hopes in a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina.

The Uruguayan is in his second season away from the Emirates after spending the previous campaign with Atletico Madrid, but may have finally found a home in Tuscany.

Taking on reigning Serie A champions Inter, Torreira opened the scoring in the 50th minute with a quick finish to net goals in consecutive games for the first time as a professional footballer.

The 26-year-old then received a knock to the face, losing his tooth, which he took over to the touchline before playing on with a cotton bud in his mouth, which later fell out to reveal his new gappy smile.

Inter equalised five minutes after Torreira’s goal through Dutch wingback Denzel Dumfries, but failed to find a winner and fell further behind in Italy’s title race.

Milan now lead the way on 66 points, followed by Napoli on 63 and Inter on 60, although the Nerazzurri do have a game in hand on the two sides above them.
