Important things to know about the JFT-Basic

THE Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) has been canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. However, those who have been preparing for the JLPT can still take the JFT-Basic.

Held six times a year, the JFT-Basic uses computers to administer its tests. The test center also properly observes social distancing and other coronavirus preventive measures. More details on the test can be found on this website: https://www.jpf.go.jp/jft-basic/sample/q01.html.

Generally, registration begins in even-numbered months while the test begins in odd-numbered months. For registration, those who register as a group or organization must do so at least 15 days before their preferred test days; while those who register individually do so at least three days before their test.
