Pogba could be leaving the Red Devils this summer for nothing

Arriving in 2016 for £89million, a then world record, there were high hopes for the French midfielder.

And whilst he started well, winning two trophies in his debut season and scoring in the Europa League final, things have not gone so well for Pogba with performances being criticised by former Red Devils players.

With that said, Man United are still keen on retaining his services and are understood to have offered him a new contract worth £500,000-a-week to stay.

But he is still yet to sign and is ‘willing to listen’ to offers from elsewhere, even those from other sides in England.

At the moment though, no offers have been made to the World Cup winning midfielder, Sky Sports say.

The report states two Premier League clubs have registered their interest and have been in contact with his camp.

What could be a key factor in where Pogba’s future lies is who Man United appoint as their next permanent manager with Erik ten Hag the reported favourite to take the hot seat at Old Trafford.

When the club make their decision, then so will Pogba, who made some comments about his future in the past.

“Whether it’s with Manchester or another club, I want to win trophies,” he said.

One thing that is for certain is that Pogba’s time at Old Trafford has been hit and miss.

And speaking on talkSPORT, Jason Cundy believes he has been let down and would have thrived under a manager like Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

“I just wonder whether he’s been let down, if he’s been mismanaged or mis-coached, I just wonder under a better manager, could we have potentially seen a better Pogba?” the ex-Chelsea centre-back said on Drive.

“I think the managerial situation [has affected him].

“Under Klopp, he wouldn’t [hold the ball], look what Klopp has done for [Jordan] Henderson, much maligned, Henderson has turned out to be one of the most consistent solid midfielders in the Premier League, and Klopp has got that out of him.”
