Ivan Toney may be facing another embarrassing public apology after appearing to describe his club, Brentford, as ‘nowhere exciting’.

A new video has emerged of the striker referring to the Premier League side in less than glowing terms after a clip earlier in the season went viral of him saying ‘f*** Brentford’.

Toney was Brentford’s stand-out player up until the January arrival of Danish superstar Christian Eriksen, but he still leads the club with 11 league goals this season.

Last season Toney set a Championship record of 31 goals as he fired Brentford to their first ever Premier League promotion, and has since caught the eye in the top flight.

The 26-year-old goalscorer has been linked with a move up the table, as well as an England call-up, but may have bigger problems to deal with first.

In a TikTok clip that shows Toney sitting in his car discussing cryptocurrencies with a passer by, he’s then asked about what he does for a living.

“Professional footballer,” Toney replies before being asked who he plays for, to which the striker replied, “Nowhere exciting”.

In January, Toney was forced into a public apology after a video emerged of him saying ‘f*** Brentford’.

Brentford launched an investigation into the clip before Toney admitted it was unacceptable.

He said in a statement: “I am aware of a video of me that was published on social media today, taken in Dubai where I have been on holiday during the winter break. In it, I used language that was unacceptable.

“The video was cut short and edited, but I have to accept the impact this has had and I realise I should not have put myself in that position.

“I have explained to the gaffer what happened and apologised to him but I also want to apologise to all Brentford fans.

“I respect the way you all support the team and I have to say how much I love playing for the club and for you.

“I’ll be back at training next week, working hard to score more goals to win us more games for the rest of the season.”
