Anthony Martial has only been away from English football for two months but one Premier League team could be the key to igniting his career in Spain.
The Frenchman made his return from injury in Sevilla’s 1-0 win over West Ham in their Europa League first-leg clash last week.
The issue had halted his progress at the LaLiga side after his loan move from Manchester United in January.
But Martial has now got two more substitute appearances under his belt and could be in line for a start in the second leg against West Ham tonight.
And the prospect of facing the Hammers again would be one Martial will relish in order to truly kickstart his time at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
Martial only managed one goal for Sevilla prior to his injury but boasts an impressive record against the Hammers from his time at United.
The 26-year-old faced West Ham 13 times during his seven years at Old Trafford, winning seven matches and drawing three.
During those 13 games, Martial also registered 11 goal involvements as he scored six goals and assisted another five for his team-mates.
Martial has twice bagged braces against the Irons, in a 3-2 loss in May 2016 and in a 4-1 EFL Cup win that November.
The 2015 Golden Boy Award winner’s last game for United before his move to Sevilla was also against West Ham.
And he played a part in United’s late winner as a substitute, teeing up Edinson Cavani to square for Marcus Rashford’s 93rd minute strike.
Martial will now be tasked with being Sevilla’s main man to get the goals against West Ham and considering his record you wouldn’t bet against him…
