The 2021/22 Champions League last 16 is set to come to an end this week and attention is already turning to the quarter-finals.

UEFA’s premier competition has been full of goals and action, so you can expect the drama to continue as we approach the last eight.

The draw for the Champions League quarter-finals will take place later this month

Liverpool and Manchester City are through while Chelsea have put one foot in the quarter-finals already after a comfortable victory over their last 16 opponents.

But, Manchester United won’t be joining them after they crashed out to Atletico Madrid following a 1-0 defeat at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Paris Saint-Germain are also out after throwing away a two goal lead against Real Madrid, while several of the other ties are evenly poised.

The final was set to be held in Saint Petersburg but after Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, UEFA have moved it to the Stade de France in Paris on May 28.

The quarter-finals will get underway in April with the draw to be held later this month. Here is everything you need to know…

Champions League draw: Date and time

The quarter-final draw will take place on Friday, March 18 and is set to start at 11am UK time.

The draw is totally open, so any team can be drawn to face any other.

The first legs will be played on April 5/6 and the return matches on April 12/13.

The semi-finals are also set to be drawn on March 18.

There are no seeds in the quarter-finals or country protection.

Therefore, Liverpool and Manchester City can be drawn against each other after they both progressed.

The semi-final draw will also be made, so the English giants that progress from their last 16 ties will know who they would face should they succeed in the quarter-finals.
