This attention to detail from Newcastle United owners – Compare to Mike Ashley shambles

Only nine months since Mike Ashley left Newcastle United.

However, this football club is already unrecognisable.

The new Newcastle United owners doing such a professional job, as they look to rebuild NUFC.

Indeed, not only rebuild towards what our club was previously, but go far beyond that. That is the intention anyway and all you ask for as a fan, is ambition to be shown to try and make Newcastle United the best it can possibly be.

As well as the big things the new owners have done that naturally make the headlines, such as new signings. Sometimes it is the smaller things that really sum up how different this football club is now.

Attention to detail.

However, let us go back first to peak Mike Ashley era, summer 2015.

Suddenly spending (by Ashley standards) loads of money on young players who had never played in the Premier League (Mbemba, Mitrovic, Wijnaldum, with Thauvin still to arrive) after having only reached safety from relegation on the final day of the previous season under John Carver) but replacing him with Steve McClaren who had just been sacked by second tier Derby County.

What could possibly go wrong?

Well, for starters, Mike Ashley and his lackeys decided a pre-season trip to America would be ideal preparation. No problem, if organised properly.

However, a chaotic trip concluded with a game against Portland Timbers reserve team, on a pitch where it was felt too dangerous to risk many of Newcastle’s first choice players. Steve McClaren stating this after the game where his scratch team lost to the Portland Timbers second team, the then NUFC Head Coach deeming that artificial surface far too much of an injury risk. Fancy going all of the way to America and then not even able to play the team you wanted because the pitch wasn’t suitable.

Seven years later and things are very different.

No dangerous artificial pitches BUT the new Newcastle United owners sent out a number of their ground staff, to help ensure the pitch would be perfect when NUFC kicked off in Austria against 1860 Munich.

Pitch starting to look unreal for Newcastles pre season friendly only Friday. Regular cutting and feeding from me and the lads the past two weeks has definitely payed off 🍃👌 https://t.co/9D4x2IQgNm

Well Austria it’s been an absolute pleasure 🇦🇹 coming here for the past two weeks preparing the pitches for Newcastles pre season friendly @FCPSen. Would also like to thank the Newcastle for putting their trust in us and sending us over here. 🍃🍃🍃 https://t.co/mEIhFD4zLP

Once again, this is only a small detail but one that perfectly illustrates the level at which they intend to run Newcastle United. Leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of progressing the club on and off the pitch.
