Jack Wilshere has been impressed with the signings Arsenal have made so far this summer – but believes the Gunners still need a ‘few more’ before the window closes.

The north Londoners have now spent almost £90million this summer, which adds to the £150m that was splashed last year.

The £45m deal for Gabriel Jesus is one that the Gunners will hope finally helps them break into the top four after narrowly missing out on it to arch-rivals Tottenham last year.

They have also brought in Porto playmaker Fabio Vieira, back-up goalkeeper Matt Turner, and Brazilian youngster Marquinhos.

And Wilshere, who was training with the club for a period last season, is impressed with the transfer window so far – in particular, the signing of Jesus from Manchester City.

“They’ve done well, a few new signings,” Wilshere told talkSPORT when asked about the Gunners’ transfer window.

“The striker is a good one, Jesus.

“I still think they maybe need a few more because of Europe, just in general, to strengthen the squad.

“They might be fighting to get in the team, but they’ll strengthen the squad.”

The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Youri Tielemans, and Raphinha, with plenty of time left to still complete deals before the window closes on September 1.
